CHILDREN’S SUMMER HOLIDAY PROGRAMME – THE STORIES THAT RAN AWAY
Join us at the Zeitz MOCAA BMW Centre for Art Education for an exciting week of children’s workshops over the 2024 Summer school holidays. We have designed the holiday programme as an open studio space so that children have a choice of a variety of different activities in the same space and so that they can stay and create for as long as they would like.
The workshop activities have been inspired by the Zeitz MOCAA children’s book series THE STORIES THAT RAN AWAY, written by Meridian Berndt and illustrated by Jill Joubert, Jax lamb, Meridian Berndt and mandy Wamono.
Four activities, each inspired by one of the stories from the children’s book series will be offered on all of the workshop days. The activities are offered at different levels of complexity to accommodate different skill levels and age groups, ensuring maximum fun and engagement. Children may choose a different activity each day or two activities on one day depending on their age and/or how long they wish to stay. A fifth surprise activity will be added on the final day.
Workshops are open to all children and teens aged 6 – 16. Children will be registered at the beginning of the class and only parents and guardians will be allowed to sign children out when they have completed one or more of the activities. Younger siblings (5yrs or younger) must be accompanied by parents or guardians at all times, if they wish to participate in the workshop activities with a brother or sister. We welcome teens who would like the opportunity to create amongst and alongside younger children at any of the table activities. A more challenging activity at the ‘Teen Table is also provided.
