Disparate objects come together to reference the context from which they are sourced and to which they comment. Recycled and reconfigured in a labour intensive, creative way, they are reflections of a contemporary society. Still plagued by poverty, disparity and the hope for a better future, the seemingly functional chair by Willie Bester holds the discomfort of a society that is not quite reached its goals of democracy.
