Zeitz MOCAA stands in solidarity with staff against racism and police brutality, directed at black persons in this time of repeated blows, lies, and assault to our being. The hatred and ugliness are naked. These issues are not unique to the United States. They unfortunately remain a stark reality in South Africa and particularly in Cape Town, our physical home, where the legacies of racist ideology endure.

We have shared conversations around #RadicalSolidarity over the past few weeks. We will continue to do so in our programming and exhibitions in the future. We remain committed to supporting the well-being of black lives and dismantling racism and sexism, through our work as a museum representing contemporary art from Africa and its vast and rich diaspora.
