Date & Time

25 February 23 - 25 February 23

10:15 AM - 12:30 PM

This month’s Family Learning Workshop centres on the tapestries of lives in material form. Inspired by Cape Town artist Igshaan Adams, who is the current artist-in-residence at Zeitz MOCAA’s Atelier on level 2, the workshop will ask participants to expand on their idea of what art is by teaching them to weave and make a tapestry of their own that incorporates a variety of materials, much like Adams does. The artist, who hails from Bonteheuwel, works collaboratively with people from the community in which he grew up, to create intricately woven tapestries that weave together personal and collective narratives.

Run by Amy Cornfield, Zeitz MOCAA’s Family Learning Workshops at the Centre for Art Education (CFAE) enable parents/guardians and their children to share a creative experience and develop their engagement with art, together. Materials and equipment are provided along with a snack break.
