Date & Time

28 January 23 - 28 January 23

10:15 AM - 12:30 PM

Ring in a new year with a fun Family Learning Workshop inspired by Malagasy artist Malala Andrialavidrazana’s use of maps, as seen in her work that forms part of Indigo Waves & Other Stories: Re-Navigating the Afrasian Sea & Notions of Diaspora, currently on show at Zeitz MOCAA until 29 January. Maps teach us about the world in a visual way, presenting information, tracing routes and showing changes over time that tell stories of places, people and cultures. Workshop attendees will learn about maps, symbolism and the technique of photomontage to create story maps of their own.

Run by Amy Cornfield, the Family Learning Workshops enable parents/guardians and their children to share a creative experience and develop their engagement with art, together. Materials and equipment are provided along with a snack break.
