10. 30 am – 12.30 pm
In the Atrium bowl of Zeitz MOCAA is a big, golden inflatable sculpture by artist Goldendean. Named Soft Vxnxs, visitors are invited to feel and embrace the work. Children and adults of all ages are drawn to it – enthralled by its scale, excited that they are able to touch and hug it, eager to jump on it.
This month, the Centre for Art Education (CFAE) brings the sculpture to life in a Family Learning Workshop where children and their parents/guardians will work in 3D with play-doh and gold balloons to create their own anatomic forms in response to Soft Vxnxs.
Materials and equipment will be provided along with a juice/coffee/tea and biscuit break. Run by Amy Cornfield, the Family Learning Workshops enable parents/guardians and their children to share a creative experience while developing their engagement with art together.
Participants are asked to meet in the museum foyer at 10.15 am. Children enter for free and must be accompanied by an adult.
R210 per entry or free with museum membership (R290 per person)
