Date & Time

12 October 19 - 12 October 19

14:00 PM - 17:00 PM

Do you have a child or children aged 11 – 17? Zeitz MOCAA invites you and your family to this month’s Pop-up Drawing session as part of our Family Learning Programme.

This workshop takes inspiration from William Kentridge‘s exhibition, Why Should I Hesitate: Putting Drawing to Work. This workshop will take inspiration from his optical devices in ‘The Studio’ room, from which this session takes inspiration.

This workshop will start with a brief tour of Kentridge’s exhibition. We will then return to the studio, to make  drawings in novel ways with a variety of materials and light sources. This workshop will extend the experience of illustration, playfully and freshly. We will work with overhead projectors to enlarge drawings and add scraps of paper to collage onto these, working from  the individual to the collective in a lively and social art-making experience.

No experience necessary – just curiosity and interest in art!
Special needs children are welcome.

Tea, coffee, biscuits and juice will be served half-way through this workshop.

This event is free for children under 18 and Zeitz MOCAA Member parents/guardians. Standard admission rates apply for non-member parents/guardians.

RSVP is essential: Click here to book your place.
