Inspired by the name of the Museum’s exhibition Two Together, the Two (or Three) Together Family Learning Workshop offers parents and children the opportunity to play, explore and develop their connections with creativity by connecting to their personal family heritage.
The Two Together exhibition showcases part of the Museum’s permanent collection. Each gallery contains work that address major themes by two artists from Africa and the diaspora that provoke a new relationship when exhibited together.
The parent/ guardian-children teams will make mixed-media artworks around the theme of family heritage. Everyone will make their own individual artwork from the materials provided. As a group, we will discuss the dialogue that is created when looking at each team’s creations in relation to each other. The teams will work together to join their artworks into one final piece.
The Family Learning Workshops enable adults and children to share a creative experience, work collaboratively and learn together. This will be the first Family Learning Workshop facilitated by Amy Cornfield.
Meet in the Museum foyer at 10.15am.
This workshop is for children between the ages of 4 – 9 and their parents/ guardians.
This workshop is free for museum members and children. If you are not a member please purchase a membership or a daily admission ticket here. Children under the age of 18 enter the museum for free.
