Support Our Mission
Building the future of
African art, together.
As a public, not-for-profit institution, we exhibit, collect, preserve, and research contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. Your support helps us host international exhibitions, develop educational programmes, and strive for access for all.
Your support helps shape a sustainable future for the arts. It develops emerging museum professionals, creates access for new audiences, and preserves the stories that define our continent. Every contribution makes an impact, from funding a curator-in-training to taking art into communities that have never set foot in a museum.
The Atelier Programme
To honour the visionary leadership of Koyo Kouoh, we have renamed our residency initiative the Koyo Kouoh Atelier Programme. Established in 2019, this program provides Cape Town-based artists with the conceptual and material space to think, experiment, and create.
Located on Level 2 of the museum, the Atelier hosts residences of up to eight months. It serves as a vital platform for emerging and established voices to engage directly with the public, fostering a culture of trust, curiosity, and generative artistic practice.

The Zeitz MOCAA & UWC Museum Fellowship
A year-long professional training and postgraduate study initiative that prepares the next generation of African museum professionals.
MOCAA on the Move
Zeitz MOCAA is pioneering an art classroom on wheels to take arts education beyond our museum walls. Housed on a bespoke truck chassis, MOCAA on the Move is a self-contained, immersive learning space equipped with art materials, educational resources, and flexible display solutions for screenings and performances.
This mobile museum travels to under-resourced communities across the greater Cape Town area, providing schools and NGOs the opportunity to engage with contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. It is our commitment to making art accessible to all, regardless of location.
