Thematic Tour: Narratives of Migration & Intercontinental Dialogues

Sakhisizwe Gcina (South Africa), AKO Foundation Assistant Curator of Special Projects, Curatorial Lab (Zeitz MOCAA).

This tour will present highlights from the 12 opening exhibitions. It will investigate works by Samson Kambalu (Malawi), El Anatsui (Ghana), Cyrus Kabiru (Kenya), Julien Sinzogan (Benin), Glenn Ligon (USA), Isaac Julien (UK), Njideka Akunyili Crosby (Nigeria), and Thania Peterson (South Africa). Lasting a full hour, it will encompass the first and second floors of the museum

Please note this will be a training tour and young curators will join the tour as part of their training.

Inside the Waterfront

From the Clock Tower, it’s a 3–5-minute walk to the Silo District. From Battery Park, 5-7 minutes along the canal. Look for the concrete silo with the glass rooftop – that’s Zeitz MOCAA.

From the Freeway

Follow signs to V&A Waterfront via the N1/N2. Enter Dock Road to the Silo District. Zeitz MOCAA is the historic grain silo on Silo Square. Parking: Silo 1 or 2 or at Battery Park.

From the Suburbs

From M3/M5, head to the V&A Waterfront. Enter via Dock Road and continue to the silo District. Find us on Silo Square in the grain silo building. Parking nearby at Silo District or Battery Park.

Parking

Secure parking is available at the V&A Waterfront Silo District Parking Garage (P3). Direct access to the museum is available from the garage.
