This tour will focus on the artists and works in the opening exhibition that highlights the significance of garments, outfits and costumes in conveying narrative and meaning. The Tour will move through the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors of the museum, touching on artists such as Athi-Patra Ruga (South Africa), Yinka Shonibare MBE (RA) (United Kingdom) and Leonce Raphael Agbodjélou (Benin) and Nandipha Mntambo (Swaziland), whose notions of materiality and clothing the body and is at the core of their work.
Please note this will be a training tour and young curators will join the tour as part of their training.
