Explore Zeitz MOCAA in a new light, after dark!

Museum Night is a multi-institution after-hours cultural experience.  For one night, the public is invited to explore their city’s museums and cultural institutions after-hours. Zeitz MOCAA will offer free admission for Members, children under 18 and student with valid student-ID and half-price admission for other guests.

Join one of our free public tours scheduled throughout the night for a deeper understanding of our cutting-edge art and architecture.

PLUS! Zeitz MOCAA Food will be hosting an African ‘Food is art’ inspired dinner with live music. The event will showcase the art of food and what is offered on level 6. Inspired by the creativity and art throughout the building, FOOD will extend this through their creative menu resulting in the same emotions that one experiences when looking at cutting-edge art. Zeitz MOCAA Members, students with valid student IDs and children under 18 enjoy free admission.  Half-price admission (R50) for all other guests. Museum Night admission starts at 5 p.m. with last admission at 9:30 p.m.

Menu:
Welcome plate
Fufu – triple cooked casava with mango atchar and cardaman mayo
Mopani Worms (inspired) – choux pastry with porcini chutney and parmesan custard
Banana Chips –  deep-fried plantain chips with fermented Moi Moi

First Course
Equator Salad – served with a heart of palm, chilli and ginger

Second course
Tilapia – served with cinnamon berbere and lime butter

Palate Cleanser
Dark Roast Coffee with Rue

Main Course
Nyama Choma – grilled Nigerian meat served with amasi buns and smoked chakalaka

Dessert
Chemchebsa – A served with lime honey and frozen Burkina

Daily Tours

Free daily 1-hour tours are offered Monday through Friday at 12:30 PM. Book on arrival at the museum with our Front of House team. Capacity is limited.

Inside the Waterfront

From the Clock Tower, it’s a 3–5-minute walk to the Silo District. From Battery Park, 5-7 minutes along the canal. Look for the concrete silo with the glass rooftop – that’s Zeitz MOCAA.

From the Freeway

Follow signs to V&A Waterfront via the N1/N2. Enter Dock Road to the Silo District. Zeitz MOCAA is the historic grain silo on Silo Square. Parking: Silo 1 or 2 or at Battery Park.

From the Suburbs

From M3/M5, head to the V&A Waterfront. Enter via Dock Road and continue to the silo District. Find us on Silo Square in the grain silo building. Parking nearby at Silo District or Battery Park.

Parking

Secure parking is available at the V&A Waterfront Silo District Parking Garage (P3). Direct access to the museum is available from the garage.
