In Nigerian-born, British artist, Mary Evans’ soon to close solo exhibition GILT, on level 1 at the Zeitz MOCAA, is a series call Please Do Not Bend made from brown paper envelopes. The works speak to the polite nature of notices that are found in public spaces in the UK. Inspired by this series and Evan’s use of paper-based disposable materials, the participants in the October Family Learning Workshop will create their own envelope artworks that explore politeness and culture.
The Zeitz MOCAA’s Family Learning Workshops at the Centre for Art Education (CFAE) enable parents/guardians and their children to share a creative experience and develop their engagement with art, together. Materials and equipment are provided along with a snack break.
