Nigerian-born, British artist Mary Evans is known for her use of paper-based materials and cut-out silhouettes that she composes to create evocative site-specific installations. Inspired by Evans’ use of materials and cut-out techniques, which can b viewed in her solo exhibition GILT, now on show at Zeitz MOCAA, this Family Learning Workshop will ask participants to create their own decorative cut-out artworks. Participants will explore the ideas of and relationship between etiquette, domesticity, custom, culture, portraiture and identity while working with doilies, coloured paper and card.
Run by Amy Cornfield, Zeitz MOCAA’s Family Learning Workshops at the Centre for Art Education (CFAE) enable parents/guardians and their children to share a creative experience and develop their engagement with art, together. Materials and equipment are provided along with a snack break.
