Children’s Tour! MOCAA Mapping the World

Nov 23, 2018

Children between the ages of 9 and 12 are invited to join us for a morning of fun-filled discovery at the Children’s Tour! MOCAA Mapping the World programme.

The children’s tour has been designed for children to discover information about the artists, where they live and work and what has inspired them. As they move from one work to another, they will fill in a blank map of the world, using symbols, drawings or words recording their findings of each artwork as well as their reactions to, and opinions about the artworks that they encounter. The activities will encourage children to look for visual clues in each artwork, read didactics and consider important questions and ideas.

Please note that RSVP is essential. Click here to RSVP.  15 children max per tour.
Parent or guardians accompanying children with Zeitz MOCAA Membership enjoy free admission. Admission will apply for non-members.

Children and parents will be met by a Zeitz MOCAA education staff member at the reception  desk on level 0. The staff member will register each child for the for the tour.

This tour is part of initiatives by Zeitz MOCAA Centre for Art Education.

The Centre for Art Education is a space for the development of  educational and enrichment programmes for all. This accessible platform provides the tools and language for the appreciation of artistic practice from Africa and its Diaspora.

Working closely with the other Centres at Zeitz MOCAA, and other educational institutions in the surrounding communities, the Centre for Art Education is responsible for a well-rounded, multi-faceted programme, designed to accommodate the needs of all.

The Centre is an environment which encourages in-depth open discussion; multilingualism; and intercultural understanding through an expansive programme of workshops, lectures, seminars, panel discussions, and guided tours. The Centre is also responsible for the distribution of content generated at the museum to wider audiences via our various online platforms and outreach programmes.
