Children’s Summer Holiday Programme

Nov 21, 2019

Join us at the Centre for Art Education for a variety of exciting children’s workshops and story-telling sessions over the summer holidays. Children will be motivated to create 2D and 3D visual art projects by qualified workshop facilitators drawing inspiration from selected artworks on exhibition in the museum.
Using a variety of wet and dry mediums and techniques in painting, drawing, collage, construction and print-making, children will be exploring the creative possibilities of paper, fabric and recycled materials in a nurturing and child-friendly space.
To further inspire children, we have invited visiting artists, print-makers, storytellers and performers to enrich our holiday programme.
We are excited to be joined by a master printmaker for William Kentridge – Jillian Ross – and her collaborators from David Krut Projects, Sbongiseni Khulu and Chad Cordeiro, who will be facilitating workshops for children in the first week of the holiday programme.

Each day will see two workshops – the morning session geared towards children aged 6-8, and the afternoon session for those aged 9-12.

Booking is essential as space is limited. Click here and here to secure your spot.

RSVP: Free with museum admission at R200 or museum membership. To purchase a membership from just R290 per year, visit our membership page.
