28 May 2020: A conversation between Raphael Chikukwa, Acting Executive Director and Chief Curator of the National Gallery of Zimbabwe and Storm Janse Van Rensburg, Senior Curator at Zeitz MOCAA.
As part of an ongoing series of conversations with leaders in the art world, Chikukwa and Janse Van Rensburg will discuss regional collegiality and radical solidarity through museum practice.
19 May 2020: A conversation between Aïda Muluneh, artist and founding director of the Addis Foto Fest (AFF) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Koyo Kouoh, Executive Director and Chief Curator of Zeitz MOCAA.
The discussion focused on institution-making as critical practice. They explored possibilities around knowledge production and the development of understated narratives from Africa.
12 May 2020: A head to head conversation between Mandla Sibeko, Founding Director and Owner of FNB Art Joburg and Koyo Kouoh, Executive Director and Chief Curator of Zeitz MOCAA.
As part of an ongoing series of conversations with leaders in the art world, Kouoh will talk with Sibeko and explore the unique set of challenges and opportunities facing contemporary art institutions on the African continent and probe the complex relationship between museums and the art market.

29 April 2020: Head to Head with Merriem Berrada, Artistic Director at the Museum of Contemporary African Art Al Maaden (MACAAL) in Morocco and Koyo Kouoh, Executive Director and Chief Curator of Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) in South Africa.
Situated in Marrakech, Morocco, MACAAL is an independent, not-for-profit contemporary art museum which opened in November 2016. Since its relaunch in 2018, it has been dedicated to the promotion of African art through its diverse exhibition and education programmes, cultivating the interest of a wide audience base. Located at the opposite end of the continent, Zeitz MOCAA having opened in September 2017, is a public not-for-profit contemporary art museum which collects, preserves, researches, and exhibits contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora.
