Zeitz MOCAA is proud to announce a special screening of US musician and artist, Solange Knowles’s interdisciplinary performance art film,  When I Get Home.

Originally released in March, this extended director’s cut of the film has been screened at art institutions across the US and Europe, and now comes to Cape Town.

The film accompanies Solange’s latest critically acclaimed album of the same name and is a homage to her Houston, Texas roots, black cowboys, and Afrofuturism.

Screenings will take place in the museum’s Scheryn Collection Arena on the Ground Level and the Roof Terrace on Level 6 on 1 November 2019 only. RSVP is essential as space is limited. Book  your place now by clicking here.

These screenings will take place on the first Friday of November. As part of our #WoZAFriday initiative, enjoy half-price admission (R100) from 4 p.m. with last entries at 8.30 p.m. The museum closes at 9 p.m.


About Solange Knowles:
Solange Knowles is a visual and music artist who was born on 24 June 1986, in Houston, Texas, in the US. She has released four albums and in 2013 launched her own record label, Saint Records. Her 2016 album,  A Seat at the Table, led to her first Grammy win the following year.

In March 2019, she released her fourth album, When I Get Home.

Inside the Waterfront

From the Clock Tower, it’s a 3–5-minute walk to the Silo District. From Battery Park, 5-7 minutes along the canal. Look for the concrete silo with the glass rooftop – that’s Zeitz MOCAA.

From the Freeway

Follow signs to V&A Waterfront via the N1/N2. Enter Dock Road to the Silo District. Zeitz MOCAA is the historic grain silo on Silo Square. Parking: Silo 1 or 2 or at Battery Park.

From the Suburbs

From M3/M5, head to the V&A Waterfront. Enter via Dock Road and continue to the silo District. Find us on Silo Square in the grain silo building. Parking nearby at Silo District or Battery Park.

Parking

Secure parking is available at the V&A Waterfront Silo District Parking Garage (P3). Direct access to the museum is available from the garage.
