The BMW Centre for Art Education presents the October Family Learning Workshop inspired by The Procession, Ghanaian-American artist Rita Mawuena Benissan’s towering cylindrical tapestry suspended in the Atrium at the heart of Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa.
Led by The Procession, our makers will bring their own tapestries to life using fluid colour, bold shapes and imaginative reflection.
Participants can expect active relaxation in a unique workshop setting that explores a variety of inspiring techniques and materials, with light refreshments to complement the day’s activities.
Zeitz MOCAA’s Family Learning Workshops at the BMW Centre for Art Education give parents/guardians and children the chance to share a creative experience and deepen their engagement with art together. All materials and equipment are provided.
To sustain the quality and continuity of this programme, a modest workshop fee has been introduced, effective from the end of February 2026.

Participants should plan to arrive at the main entrance by 10 am. The workshop will begin promptly at 10:15 am with a visit to the artworks, where applicable.
