Visit the UWC Cape Flats Nature Reserve and MOCAA Art Club 2024 exhibition which celebrates the top 24 entrants in the UWC Cape Flats Nature Reserve competition. The exhibition opens on Saturday, 10 May and runs until Sunday, 8 June 2025 in the tunnels located on level -1 of the museum.
This competition is a collaboration between the UWC Cape Flats Nature Reserve and the Zeitz MOCAA BMW Centre for Art Education, celebrating the Cape Flats Nature Reserve while highlighting the crucial link between conservation and education.
Over 70 photos were submitted for this competition and only the top 24 were selected to be part of the exhibition. With subject matter ranging from the unique biomes present in the nature reserve, to the smallest of living creatures, this exhibition is sure to make you want to visit the Cape Flats Nature Reserve!
Exhibited alongside these exquisite images are a selection of photographs taken by the 2024 MOCAA Art Club learners who visited the Cape Flats Nature Reserve late last year. Captured on disposable cameras, these images document the experience of these learners in the reserve, many who have never had the opportunity to interact with these unique species before, highlighting the importance of accessibility in the fight to preserve biodiversity.
