Join us at the Zeitz MOCAA Centre for Art Education for an exciting week of children’s workshops over the 2023 Winter school holidays. Children will explore a variety of 2D and 3D materials and themes inspired by the When We See Us exhibition. Children will enjoy the guidance of trained art facilitators and friendly studio assistants.
Members’ children are invited to participate in the workshops FREE of charge.
Zeitz MOCAA Silo Membership is R390 per person for 12 months.
For non-members it is R230 per child per workshop.
Venue: Level -1 in the Centre for Art Education (CFAE)
Parents are requested to deliver their child/children to the Centre for Art Education where they will be registered for the workshop.
Please do not leave your child/children unaccompanied in the reception area.
Workshops for Age 6 – 8: A max of 25 children, 10:00 – 12:00
Workshops for Age 9 – 12: A max of 30 children, 14:00 – 16:00

WORKSHOP 2: WEDNESDAY 28 JUNE – WWSU: “Joy and Revelry”

CUPCAKES AND PARTY PLATES
Plate and cupcake decoration.
Bringing back their memories of party celebrations children will paint their own bisque party plate and decorate a real cupcake to take home.
14:00 – 16:00 | Age 9 – 12 | Tie-Dying and Fabric Paint Prints
PARTY PATTERNS
Tie dyed scarves and skirts.
Children will experiment with fun tie-dying techniques to make pieces of fabric that can be used as scarves or skirts.

IN A BUBBLE BATH
Children will create bubble prints and add fun elements that remind them of plying in a bubble bath.

MY CHILL-OUT CHAIR
Miniature chill-out chairs.
Children will imagine, design and make their own chill out chairs and spaces, Exploring 3-D and surface design elements.

I AM A SUPERHERO
Superhero masks.
Children will imagine themselves as superheroes and create their own superhero masks using a variety of fun materials.
14:00 – 16:00 | Age 9 – 12 | Illustration or Sculpting with Plasticine
SUPERHERO
2D illustrations or 3D building with plasticine on a wire armature.
Children will imagine themselves as with special super powers and create their superhero alter-ego.
