Children and parents are invited to Zeitz MOCAA’s Open Studio every Africa Wednesday in April 2019. Zeitz MOCAA’s Centre for Art Education will be open from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. offering children and parent’s practical art-making activities inspired by themes or works in our Permanent Collection and Temporary Exhibitions. This series of Open Studio events are designed for children and parents of all ages.
The activities will be facilitated by CFAE staff but will not take the form of a structured formal art lesson. Parents with their children can enter that space and any time between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to participate in fun workshop activities.
Please note that to join this event, Zeitz MOCAA member parents and African citizens will enjoy free admission. Admission fees will apply for non-member parents. Children under 18 years enjoy free admission. Click here to RSVP.
The Centre for Art Education is a space for the development of educational and enrichment programmes for all. This accessible platform provides the tools and language for the appreciation of artistic practice from Africa and its Diaspora.
Working closely with the other Centres at Zeitz MOCAA, and other educational institutions in the surrounding communities, the Centre for Art Education is responsible for a well-rounded, multi-faceted programme, designed to accommodate the needs of all.
The Centre is an environment which encourages in-depth open discussion; multilingualism; and intercultural understanding through an expansive programme of workshops, lectures, seminars, panel discussions, and guided tours.
